With the “Blue Runway” at Lakme Fashion Week, Manish Malhotra introduced his summer collection with a social message of change. In association with the WEvolve campaign, with World Bank as partner, the show marked global launch of this initiative focused on challenging societal norms that lead to gender based violence.

HAPPY 15: As part of LFW’s 15-year celebrations, this collection was showcased on March 18, 2015 - Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2015 at an off-site venue of The Great Eastern Home in South Mumbai.

THAT LOOK: Long fitted jackets and Parsi gara feel came to the fore. The show was opened by model Lakshmi Rana, who graciously swayed along the long ramp with guests on both sides cheering her on.

SPOTTED: Bollywood faces with design house buyers were all in attendance. Actress Jacqueline Fernandes came rushing with designer Shehla Khan. Deepika Padukone in a black jumpsuit and high pony sat next to them. Puneet Malhotra caught up with Huma Quereshi where she naughtily weaved an impromptu story about a neighbour's missing cat and her Istanbul holiday with her boy friend.

GIRL WITH THE BLUE SCARF says: While it made a many other leading designers rather jealous about this prestigious show being bagged by Manish Malhotra, the design genius remained unperturbed and played up his Bollywood magic in the F-rows.

We should use the power of social media to catch the culprits and make our streets safer for men and women both.
