THE WEDDINGTON WAY BRIDESMAID LOOK WITH AN INDIAN TWIST
Hollywood meets Bollywood in a bridesmaid avatar - Nimisha's choice
Today, as the world stands in notice of Indian inspirations in fashion, I, a Mumbai-based dusky girl from India could only pop surprises when I chose to don a Weddington Way bridesmaid dress from its Hollywood inspired style collection. I really like to stand out in a crowd and look different and pretty. So, here's my twist - I fused the Weddington Way bridesmaid Hollywood look with a dash of Bollywood sensuality and look what I've got here!
COLOUR BURST: India boasts of four distinct seasons — Spring (January-March), Summer (April - June), Monsoon (July - September) and Winter (October-December) and we celebrate each season with traditional festivals. The cuisine, fashion sensibilities and occasion-wear changes with these seasons. And the best time to truly enjoy going all stylish is during the wedding season. That's when the Big Fat Indian Wedding term comes into play. While Indians choose any good day to get married. The entire set of invitees (can range from 10 to 1,000 people or even more) get dressed for the occasion in beautiful hues with much enthusiasm. And the women wouldn't be caught ever repeating an attire worn at a wedding function. And that includes me, too :)
FAVOURITE FLOWY DRESS: Here's my favourite Weddington Way bridesmaid look:
RED ALERT: Indians love rich red colour. And that's my choice of hue in this comfortable and trendy bridesmaid attire |
MAKE IT LOOK RIGHT: Teaming the attire with the right make-up can be a game-changer.
HAIRSTYLE WITH SEASONAL FLOWERS: Indian seasonal flowers are sweet-scented and add a dash of natural prettiness to the bridesmaid. Fresh flowers are easily available in the local markets, they are affordable and can be complemented with the entire Weddington Way bridesmaid look.
Fresh seasonal small flowers can be tucked into the silky straight hair. The hairstyle would look soft and feminine. |
BEJEWELED FEEL: At all times, a bridesmaid must remember to not outdo the bride. It's her big day so I have to play it right with my jewelry. I love rubies, diamonds, emeralds and gold. And a light-weight necklace that's shaped like a pretty choker would look dainty on my slender neck.
An elaborate neck piece looks exquisite and I could wear it without any need for earrings or bracelet. |
KICK UP A STORM: A bridesmaid's look couldn't be complete without the right stylish footwear. And I would want to add those few inches to my heels and make the Bollywood inspired Hollywood bridesmaid's look come alive and kick-ass.
Christian Louboutin nude high heels with peep toes can look just so elegant |
