AWED: Delhi gaped with dropped jaws - this beautiful spectacle of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone - Bollywood's reigning No.1 position actors, took to the Delhi Couture Week 2013 ramp as showstoppers for Mumbai's ace designer Manish Malhotra.
Inspired by the princely states of India in the 1930s, an era celebrating opulence, Manish's silhouettes and embroidery echoed the splendour of Indian - European architecture.
SHOES BY CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN: Interestingly, French shoe designer Christian Louboutin worked closely with Manish Malhotra for his Couture show, using existing shoe designs, which were specially fabricated to complement the collection.
F-ROW: Everyone in attendance was on their feet with applause as Deepika Padukone walked the ramp in a beautiful blue lehenga, along with Shah Rukh Khan to support Manish. The front row of the completely packed show included Sunanda Tharoor, Shashi Tharoor, JJ Valaya, Amaan & Ayaan, Rohit Shetty, Sheetal Mafatlal, amongst several others.
NIMI'S GOSSIP: A desi birdie informed that many Delhiites begged and pleaded Manish for the F-Row passes for this show, promising him great help during his Delhi store opening (9 Aug, 2013). Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) was absolutely flattered at the success of this show on the Delhi Couture Week ramp. Everything else seemed lacklustre to him.

Allah tero naam. Ishwar tero naam at Jodhpur RIFF changed my perspective.... Indian Carnatic music maestro TM Krishna collaborates with transwomen singers at the Jodhpur RIFF 2017 This was my very first visit to Jodhpur and I coincided it with an attempt to catch the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) whose chief patron is Marwar's royalty Gaj Singh II. One of the renditions by Carnatic music maestro TM Krishna (TMK - as he is lovingly called) changed my life's perspective so much so that this feeling is here to stay and share. TMK sang a very popular song called 'Allah Tero Naam. Ishwar Tero Naam...' with a 'specific reason' as he perched effortlessly at the break of dawn at  Jaswant Thada near Mehrangarh Fort. With him were the absolute delights of the season — The  Jogappa singers.
