Bikini fun on Goa shores - India Resort Fashion Week 2012 wows
Bikinis, cover-alls, boy shorts, straw hats and beachy sandals ... sounds fun already, isn't it? Taking this maxim ahead was the second edition of India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW 2012) right on the shores of Candolim Beach in Goa.
PARIS HILTON TIME: I couldn't resist watching a fashion show, replete with backstage chaos, music, choreographer stand-off point, cameramen stall and front row jazz - all in place yet happening on a ramp built on sand. At the second edition of India Resort Fashion Week, it was finale designer couple Falguni and Shane Peacock who convinced me to watch it all. Their showstopper was American celebrity deejay-socialite Paris Hilton. Apart from her, world-renowned deejays playing alongside the ramp area was too good to miss out on. (Of course, some coordination hiccups did arise of sleepy drivers refusing to pick invitees on time and problems on entering the nightclub area with +1 guests).
I LIKE: Anupamaa Dayal's long and wearable stoles were really good; Babita Malkani's pop neon shades were catchy; Ken Ferns light-weight shorts and kaftans were sensuous; Neeta Lulla designs were traditional for brides to go for resort weddings; Welspun (bedsheet brand, surprise! surprise!) had a beautiful array of prints, Asmita Marwah's menswear was commendable; Rocky S and Narendra Kumar Ahmed's classics were pretty and Falguni and Shane Peacock's edgy designs were beautiful.
LOVE PASSION KARMA: I saw the most beautiful nightclub called Love Passion Karma (LPK)in Goa where the washroom opened into a lake. Tiny lights lit up the words - Love Passion Karma. And the entire decor was fused with musical influences from across the world. I was enchanted...
Girl with the Blue Scarf says: Goa has its charm and is so fashionably haute. I would love to go back there. What about you?
