Cheers to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan


It's a given that most Indians who follow Bollywood, Fashion and the Miss India pageant were excited to know what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the original Indian choice for Cannes Film Festival, former Miss World and a longstanding ambassador of L'Oreal Paris will wear at Cannes in the beginning of May. But most of us are relaxed and happy now.

Aish's choice of outfits have been rather suitable and safe on most occasions, especially during media calls at the French Riviera. Post her child birth in November 2011, she has made fewer public appearances for obvious reasons. A hands-on momma, she visited Cannes with her daughter Aaradhya, mother Vrinda Rai and her stylist and then made heads turn with great elan.

Allah tero naam. Ishwar tero naam at Jodhpur RIFF changed my perspective.... Indian Carnatic music maestro TM Krishna collaborates with transwomen singers at the Jodhpur RIFF 2017 This was my very first visit to Jodhpur and I coincided it with an attempt to catch the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) whose chief patron is Marwar's royalty Gaj Singh II. One of the renditions by Carnatic music maestro TM Krishna (TMK - as he is lovingly called) changed my life's perspective so much so that this feeling is here to stay and share. TMK sang a very popular song called 'Allah Tero Naam. Ishwar Tero Naam...' with a 'specific reason' as he perched effortlessly at the break of dawn at  Jaswant Thada near Mehrangarh Fort. With him were the absolute delights of the season — The  Jogappa singers.
