ILLUSION AT LAKME FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT GRAND FINALE 2014 A child-like fantasy world of big frangipani tree rising skywards and a maze of mirrors with candles creating a metallic illusion. We just didn't know from where the models walked in. It was an amazing grand finale.  MIRROR WORLD : Choreographed ably by Lubna Adams, the LFW Summer/Resort 2014 grand finale had a stage decked with candles and mirrors to keep us guessing if it was a model in real or her reflection While, I really liked the designer Rajesh Pratap Singh's signature style of keeping his fabrics simple and cuts wearable, I did find metallic hues as not too suitable in a Summer/Resort line. Now, it's simple, not many of us would wear Black in summers . Not in India for sure! Every time I close my eyes to revel in a moment of personal glory, it would be a skydive in Queenstown or a whiter river rafting expedition in the Rotorua. And so, recently when Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan visited the traditional Maori dancers in New Zealand, memories returned. I had danced with the Maoris myself and asked them what they eat. The tattooed hulky guy said, "Hey, we eat McDonald burgers ya! We are all educated and modern but are rooted to our culture." I like it.
